It was a wild and wacky Saturday night on the left coast. Three Crew goals in a 10 minute span late in the second half, two by Robbie Rogers (here in the game at DC last month) salvaged the victory for Columbus.

A first-half goal by Alejandro Moreno sank his former club, the defending back-to-back MLS Champions Houston Dynamo, as Columbus grabbed a 1-0 win and first place in the Eastern Conference. For Columbus the win marked their third straight victory and equaled their best start to a season since 1998. It also marked Crew coach Sigi Schmid’s 100th MLS victory.
