Reigning MLS MVP Guillermo Barros Schelotto notched a brace, his ninth and 10th goals of the season, to rally the Columbus Crew to a 2-1 victory over Chivas USA at Crew Stadium Sunday. With the win, the Crew re-enter the thick of the Eastern Conference race, just three points behind first-placed DC United. Schelotto would receive MLS Player of the Week honors for his efforts.

Eddie Gaven scored what would become the game-winning goal in the 78th minute and the Columbus Crew got their first victory of the 2009 campaign. Eight games in the making, the win came on a night the team celebrated the 10th anniversary of the opening of Crew Stadium.
