The Columbus Crew announced today that it had waived Argentine midfielder Nicolas Hernandez. The 29-year-old Hernandez was in his first season with the Crew, having been acquired from Colorado on Feb. 28.

Hernandez had played in five league matches this season, including one start, and appeared in five Reserve Division matches (four starts). Overall, he has registered eight goals and seven assists in 56 games (47 starts) over the course of his three-year MLS career.
